1. PURPOSE
This Code of Conduct sets out the expected standards of behaviour for all individuals involved in YFLDubai Competitions.
Its purpose is to:
- ensure a safe, respectful, and enjoyable environment;
- protect all Participants, particularly children;
- promote fair play, sportsmanship, and professionalism;
- provide clear grounds for disciplinary action where required.
2. WHO THIS APPLIES TO
This Code applies to:
- Players / Participants
- Coaches and Team Officials
- Team Organisers
- Parents / Guardians
- Spectators
- Any individual attending or participating in a YFLDubai event
3. CORE PRINCIPLES
All individuals must:
- act with respect, integrity, and fairness at all times;
- prioritise the safety and wellbeing of all Participants;
- follow the Rules of the Competition and instructions from officials;
- promote a positive and inclusive environment;
- accept decisions of referees and YFLDubai staff.
4. PLAYERS / PARTICIPANTS
Players must:
- play fairly and within the Rules;
- show respect to teammates, opponents, referees, and staff;
- avoid aggressive, dangerous, or unsporting behaviour;
- not use abusive, offensive, or discriminatory language;
- respect facilities, equipment, and property;
- follow instructions from coaches and officials.
5. COACHES & TEAM OFFICIALS
Coaches and officials must:
- act as role models at all times;
- prioritise the safety and welfare of players;
- treat all players equally and fairly;
- never engage in abusive, intimidating, or inappropriate behaviour;
- respect referees and match officials;
- avoid excessive pressure on players;
- ensure appropriate supervision of players at all times during match activity;
- comply with safeguarding requirements and reporting obligations.
6. TEAM ORGANISERS
Team Organisers are responsible for:
- ensuring all Players, Coaches, and Parents comply with this Code;
- communicating rules, fixtures, and expectations clearly;
- ensuring all Participants are registered and eligible;
- acting as the main point of contact with YFLDubai;
- managing behaviour of their Team and associated spectators.
7. PARENTS / GUARDIANS
Parents and guardians must:
- encourage positive participation and enjoyment;
- respect all players, coaches, referees, and officials;
- not coach from the sidelines in a disruptive manner;
- not use abusive, aggressive, or inappropriate language;
- accept decisions of referees and officials;
- ensure children are supervised outside of match play;
- support a safe and respectful environment for all.
8. SPECTATORS
Spectators must:
- behave respectfully at all times;
- refrain from abusive or offensive language or behaviour;
- not interfere with matches or officials;
- follow venue and safety guidelines;
- respect all Participants and staff.
9. PROHIBITED BEHAVIOUR
The following will not be tolerated:
- physical or verbal abuse
- threatening or aggressive behaviour
- bullying or harassment (including online)
- discrimination of any kind (race, gender, nationality, religion, etc.)
- dangerous play or misconduct
- damage to property
- inappropriate conduct towards children
10. SAFEGUARDING & WELFARE
All individuals must:
- prioritise the safety and wellbeing of children;
- report any safeguarding concerns immediately;
- comply with YFLDubai Safeguarding Policy;
- avoid inappropriate contact or communication with minors.
11. DISCIPLINARY ACTION
Failure to comply with this Code may result in:
- verbal or written warnings
- removal from a fixture or venue
- suspension from Competitions
- permanent bans
- referral to authorities (where necessary)
YFLDubai reserves the right to take action at its sole discretion.
12. RESPONSIBILITY & LIABILITY
All individuals remain responsible for their behaviour at all times.
Team Organisers are accountable for the conduct of their Players, Coaches, and Supporters.
YFLDubai reserves the right to remove any individual or Team where behaviour is deemed unacceptable.
13. ACCEPTANCE
By participating in YFLDubai Competitions, all individuals confirm that they:
- have read and understood this Code of Conduct;
- agree to comply with its requirements;
- accept that failure to do so may result in disciplinary action.
